Large 80W Laser Cheat Sheet

Goal is a short checklist that fits on an 8.5 x 11-inch sheet of paper. Deep details should go on the main Large_80W_Laser page.

• Laser switch on
• Open LaserCut 5.3
• Establish connection by clicking DownLoad (can just close download window again)
• Z- to get bed well below laser head
• Y+/X+ to move laser head to far corner
• If you're using honeycomb bed, place it
• Set up layers
  • Cut/Engrave with appropriate speed/power (see the log)
  • Air assist ("Always blow")
  • Ensure layer is "On" so laser turns on
  • Overlap: Normally 0.08
• Check "Immediate" if you want the cut positioned relative to current head position
• Set laser origin
• DownLoad (yes, again)
  • Del all
  • Download current
• Run Box and make sure laser head's movement is entirely within material
  • If it beeps and won't run, are the bounds of your cut entirely within the bounds of the cutting bed?
  • What is your laser origin set to?
