Suggestions

From HeatSync Labs Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

HeatSync Labs is always looking to improve the resources it provides to its members. A large part of this goal is to make the virtual community portal available and accessible to its members. If you have any suggestions as to how we can better develop these areas, feel free to add them in a bullet point under the relevant category with the change you would like to see and how we might be able to provide this change. If the relevant category is not listed, feel free to add it below.

Members are encouraged to take initiative to adopt minor changes within the community while larger shifts will be handled by the Board of Directors. Finally, once the suggestion has been adequately addressed, it should be marked as so.

Website Suggestions

Formalized Website

  • The front page is very blog like right now. I tried to show the site to a friend and they were unable to determine what the project was about or what was going on. We should think about some graphics and simpler text to explain and represent the site.

Logo File

  • Could the files for the HeatSync Labs logo be posted so that others can use/abuse it in their projects?
  • FIXED: Logo files and other picture files are now available for download and use off the HeatSync Labs Flickr account.

Wiki Suggestions

Contributions

  • Id like to see bigger focus on the contribute stuff, specifically I think wiki needs to be highlighted more, probably under Get Involved.
  • Added wiki link under "Get Involved" --Friedpope 19:50, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Miscellaneous

TGIMBOEJ: Heatsync Style

  • We could have our own version of The Great Internet Migratory Box of Electronics Junk. Two styles are proposed:
  1. Internal Only. It's something that we only have access to. Honor system, yadda yadda.
  2. Hackerspace Circulation. We make a box of our own, and pass it around amongst the other * hackerspaces. (it was joked that we simply send an empty box...a funny idea with some merit, but most likely to just cause some trouble)

Freecycle List

Heatcycle? Resync?

  • Develop a way for folks to share old things someone else might find useful.
